Typical Summer Fun (& puffs)

Dad was in a baseball tournament this weekend, so Mom had the boys solo for most of the day Saturday and Sunday morning. We didn't have typical hot weather, hot enough for the pool, but had decent enough weather for a trip to the "BIG SAND" as Lance calls it, a trip to the park and we can't miss out on the summer carnival fun! Lance enjoyed riding the rides and was NOT happy to say the least when his tickets were all gone! Chase has picked up this moving business and is a pretty fast army crawler. He's getting up on all fours and doing a little frog leap. Of course we tried to get it on video and as soon as the camera comes out, he won't do it!

Lance loves to see Chase every morning and is known to crawl in his crib with a book and start reading to him, which Chase loves! Just this weekend, after I gave him the ok to go in his room, I heard him on the monitor singing Old MacDonald to Chase and Chase was just giggling. Talk about wanting to freeze a moment in time.....
And he is still SO in love with his brother. Lots of hugs and kisses.
Our toes in the sand at the park.... A first for Chase and he was VERY interested in this new texture. I couldn't get him to stay away. So much for that towel I brought for us to sit on.
Lance's favorite ride at the carnival, the helicopters. After the second ride, he finally figured out that he could pull back on the lever and make the helicopter go up in the air, which he just smiled about! And he wanted the green one, Marines one, just for Grandpa!
It was a Sunday donut kind of morning. Lance always picks out the sprinkle donut, but usually ends up eating mine or the donut holes! A beautiful morning to sit outside. Lance was entertained by the busy Sunday customers and kept saying "They take their donuts home, we eat our donuts here!" Each week his sentences get longer and longer.....
And a little fun at the park after donuts! Before it started to rain for the day. It was the MOST peaceful, beautiful morning at the park. And it's getting more fun as Chase gets a little older and able to partake in the fun. He LOVES to swing and was pretty entertained by the slide and play equipment too!

and because of my "hobby" or obsession as some may call it, of taking pictures I have to say THANK you for the iPhone! Which made all of these photos possible this weekend. there is no way I could lug around my huge fancy camera everywhere to capture these moments.

Oh, and last quick note - because Chase is now crawling, Dad's reward system (LOL) allowed him to now start eating some finger foods - puffs and crackers, which he LOVES. Hasn't quite figured out how to open up his fist to get it in his mouth, but it sure occupies time.
