I am a few days behind on this posting... ok, more like a week....and before I know it, the 2 year posting will be under way - just crazy! But here it goes, better late than never. Just a few things that come to mind when I think of Lance at 23 months - 1 month shy of 2 years old.
AT 23 MONTHS YOU:
- Are really into playing with anything Toy Story.... we picked up some little sale item Toy Story figures as you have been getting awfully bored at home with your old toys.... and you like to play with them everywhere. In the grocery cart, in the bathtub.... Below is a picture of you eating snack with your "Woody, Baby and Lotso da bear" You broke your graham cracker into several pieces so you could share your snack with them. SO FUN!

- You still love your Baby Jonah and now like to put him in Baby Chase's crib to sleep and cover him with a blanket and you are also practicing giving him a bath! With soap and wash cloth and everything!

- Although you still enjoy watching Toy Story, right now your favorite movie, that you seem to want to watch EVERY night is "BIG TRAIN" which is code for Polar Express. You will sit and watch over half of the movie if we allow it... usually Mom only lets you watch for 20-30 minutes at a time.
- "No" has turned into "Nope" - Not sure where the "pe" came from, but it's "nope" to everything....
- A new phrase "Done with this"
- Really enjoy your kitchen set and grocery cart.... you mostly like to pretend to wash your hands "with soap" and like to give your "woody toys" a ride in the grocery cart!

- Along with the Toy Story theme, you now will break out in song, singing "Eww gaw fren me" which, in Lance terms is "You've got a friend in me!" Judging from the way you swing into high pitch on the word "friend" I am thinking you are going to be a tenor - pretty cute. We are trying to get video, but every time we get it out you stop singing!
- I MUST give you a choice of sandals or shoes when we dress you in the morning - Mr. Independent already.
- Some of your favorite snack foods right now are peanuts, (after watching Dad on a daily basis) M&M's (or chocolate candy as you call it - we use this for bribery a lot right now!) and Ice Cream - which must have candy on it.
- Love to point out Stop Signs. And then like to point out all the different colored signs along the road.
- Your counting goes like this "1,3,5,6,5" :-) We keep working on it, but you're not quite there yet....

What fun we are having... and what a little personality you are developing! Tantrums and all. Can't wait to celebrate your 2nd birthday in a few short weeks!!!
Nick starred at the Toy Story figures for a good 10-15 minutes over the weekend. I had to explain that it's just a photo and he could not play with them.
ReplyDeleteWe like to ask Nick what each character says...pretty cute responses. Such as for Woody "reach sky"
Buz "Buz Year"
