DAY 1 - The drive to Camping.

The drive to the campsite started around 12pm - in the POURING RAIN! Good thing we packed up the night before. One stop for gas and ice and off we went! It was cloudy and damp the whole way, but not pouring down rain. This was Daisy's first long car ride and she seemed to adjust pretty well - she apparently likes to sleep in the car. Cooper on the other hand, did everything he could to stay awake so he wouldn't miss out on anything. And he was as physically close to us as he could possibly be! Right in between out seats :-) We made one stop for a late lunch and then a stop at the Wal-Mart in Ottumwa as we forgot to bring our "Catchphrase" game. We ended up at the campsite right at 5pm. With a nice cool drizzle ...... Bryon & Gail had already arrived and Jaymi and Tim had just arrived and were getting their tent up. Not so much fun putting up the tent in the cool damp rain! The kids were as full of energy as they could be. We spent quite some time trying to put up the food shelter. ( A last minute purchase that we made, but well worth it!) Jaymi tried to help, but just couldn't do 2 things at once - Doritos were tasting way too yummy! I think we all got some laughs out of putting this up (except Keegan) We thought it was together and then one person would move and the tarp would fall, then another person....... good times!

Bedtime was pretty early - no later than 10:30-11 I think. And I think the next morning we wished we would have just stayed up later..... Read on.
