2 weeks old - was he really ever this small?
6 months old - starting to sit up on his own!
1 year old, feet hanging out.
2 years old, not wanting to cooperate and sit IN the dump truck! So we improvised!
And he was ok with standing - as long as we had M & M's to feed him - LOL!
A little behind on the 2 year update, BUT better late than never, right? Everyone will tell you that when you have children, time goes by even faster. It is amazing to think that Lance has been in our lives for 2 years now! We can’t even begin to imagine what life would be like without him. We look forward to each and every day of being parents and experiencing each new word, song, smile, giggle, new favorite toy, temper tantrum, potty experience…… each MEMORY that Lance provides us is a true gift. We feel so blessed and excited that in 2 short weeks we will get to experience twice the laughs, giggles and memories when Chase will join our family, making us a family of 4 (or 6 counting Cooper and Daisy) At 2 years YOU:
- Really like to watch You Tube on the iPad! Your favorite at 2 years is “Charlie bit my finger!” Oh, how you giggle when you watch it.
- Are afraid to poop. Whether in the diaper, in the tub, on the potty. When you have to go, you whine and say “no poop” Mom and Dad think maybe we made too big of a deal out of going on the potty. Ever since that day, you go 3-4 days without going! No fun.
- Cry and refuse baths or showers. Not sure what the deal is there – maybe just another “stage” You have loved baths up until this point. We get you in every 2 to 3 days, but you DO NOT LIKE IT right now.
- LOVE your big boy bed and big boy room. After a bedtime routine of brushing teeth, reading books and looking at the ladybug stars and moon, you point to your bed and usually have yourself to sleep within 15-20 minutes. You still take your paci at nighttime. And you must have some “friends” (stuffed animals) and baby Jonah in bed with you! Mom and Dad are SO lucky that you are such a good sleeper and love your sleep. You generally sleep from 7:45 – 7/7:30.
- Can sit and watch almost an entire movie. At least an hour to hour and a half if you are in the right mood.
- Favorite movies to watch are the Toy Story Series (2 and 3 especially) and The Polar Express, especially the Caribou scene. Mom bought The Polar Express Book and you call it the Caribou book. The first page you like to turn to is the caribou page.
- Are almost into 2T clothes and are wearing 7 ½ shoes. Almost into 8.
- Think it is fun to help dad find and pick up dog poop the night before garbage comes…. You find the dog poop and say to Dad over and over and over again “Poop, right there” until he picks it up.
- Are so cute every morning when you tell “poopa and day-ee” ba bye before we leave each morning.
- Have quite the vocabulary. I was going to try and write all the words you are saying, but obviously it was a stretch even to get this update out, so I’m not going to attempt that. Lets just say that Mom and Dad know just about every word you say and can have a conversation with you. But the stranger or outside person will probably only understand ½ of what you say. You can say a couple of 4 word sentences, mostly 2 and 3 word sentences right now.
- Know all of your colors and can say them – I love it when you say black and white! Same with shapes. When I show you certain letters, you can’t identify the actual letter, but know words that start with the specific letter. Example: I hold up the letter A and you say “apple” or the letter L and you say “Lance” or “yance” J Are so cute when you sing “Skid a ma rinky dinky dink” (That is a tough one to type out) When the song gets to the “I Love You” part, you do the signing and singing so cute! I guess I need to get video of that.
