15 Months & Turkey Day

We had a GREAT Thanksgiving with our friends here in KC - Great company and great food! Lance had a friend to share the day with too, miss Lena - although he really needs to work on his sharing... such the little bully! He was very sweet and helped me clean the floors before company arrived. AND Dad started him early checking out the Christmas Shopping Ads.... he was STUCK on a TRUCK page! LOL. I'll post the actual - super cute pics in regular size on our shutterfly page. I can't stop smiling looking at these - so funny.

This is a preview of the letter "O" page from the ABC book that I am making for Lance - hopefully for his second birthday. Lots of "letter" photo shoots to complete yet :-)

I'll get to the update. Each day is filled with surprises and entertainment, provided by LANCE!

At 15 months you:

1. WORDS: 1. Please - sounds more like these or tease... and you sign please too. Pretty cute stuff! 2. Shoes - sounds a little like this or these. But sounds different than please. 3. No - Not just "no no" to the doggies but a distinct NO when you don't want your diaper changed, etc. 4. More - along with sign language you also say more now too. We are trying to combine more with please. 5. Milk - sounds more like ma or ma sometimes. But we know what you want when you say it. Again, a stranger from the street would hear jibber jabber I am sure!
2. SOUNDS: When you see an elephant in a book, you now purse your lips and make an elephant noise! Hard to write about- we do have video, but it just doesn't load too great on this site. You also now make a horse noise, after seeing daddy do such a great job! You blow raspberries and shake your head. LOVE it! Airplane - you spread your wings and make a sshhhhh noise while you walk around the room flying like an airplane.
3. You have learned the sign language for "poop" LOL. So now when you are starting to poop, you do the sign language to us.
4. Which leads us to number #3, day-care has started the potty training and they say you LOVE the field trip to the potty. You do good sitting on it, but haven't gone yet. At home we have tried to put you on several times, and just this week, we got you to sit on your dump truck potty, with your diaper on, and read a book and potty. You LOVE to flush the toilet and wave bye bye to your poop! I know you are ALL loving this one!
5. You are really into giving kisses - you plant 'em right on the smoocher. Mom LOVES this new excitement for you!
6. Playing "ring around the rosey" has become a FAVORITE this week. As soon as we say "ashes, ashes....... you crash to the ground and giggle. LOL. I am laughing inside just thinking about it. And then immediately get right back up and insist on "more"
7. STILL can't get enough of your books and reading. Your new favorites this month are the books that I made for you, which inspires me to make even more books..... And anything with trucks, or trains really intrigues you right now!
8. You also have learned the sign for bath - which is very similar to please. As soon as we ask you if you are ready for a bath, you head up the stairs.
9. Anytime we want to make you smile, we just have to sing the "hot dog" song from Mickey Mouse. We used this during picture time and it worked like magic!
10. Get so UPSET when we won't let you jump around on our bed. You are really into jumping on our bed and in your crib after your nap.
11. A new trick you learned at day-care that Dad can't get enough of- READY, SET, GO! And you take off running. And you love to sit on the edge of the slide until we say READY, SET GO. You have your own little sound for "go" too.
12. Decided that grapes and apples aren't so bad. But still NEED a "nana" every day. You also "need" a cookie after your dinner. You do the sign language for cookie too.
13. LOVE to sing row, row, row your boat. You actually make a little movement trying to mimic rowing a boat.
