We took Lance to his "1 month check up" on Friday. He was 5 1/2 weeks old. He has gained 3 lbs, now weighing 10 lbs 11 ounces and measured 22 1/4 inches - 2 1/4 inches longer than when he was born. Now into the 50th percentile so he is doing GREAT!
Lance is starting to get into a little routine. Not EXACT every day - but getting close. He generally goes down around 9 or 10pm and sleeps a good 4 or 5 hour stretch, is awake to feed and get his diaper changed for about 30-40 minutes and then is back asleep for another 2 1/2 to 3 hours so we are pretty happy with that! He does have a little fussy time in the evening starting at 7pm for an hour or so and we are trying to figure out what works best to keep him calm (he does like car rides!) He also takes a longer 3 hour afternoon nap for me too, allowing me to either nap, throw some laundry in or do some dishes. We have ventured out to the grocery store and Target and birthday shopping for Dad - and he does pretty well as long as a take him after he has had a diaper change, been fed and isn't too tired!
His baby acne is slowly starting to go away - mostly just on the chin now - a little on the cheeks. Lance has also decided that he only likes to poop every few days too... which the Dr said is completely normal for breastfed babies. She said it is actually common for some babies to go 2 weeks or longer without pooping. SO, let me just tell you - when he finally decides to poop after a few days, it isn't pretty and I don't think there is a diaper out there that can hold THAT load... I would hate to see what a diaper would look like after 2 weeks without pooping. (Yes, Mom gagged while Dad changed the 3 day poopy diaper :-) )
And that is the update for now! Pictures from our weekend visitors to follow....
